Why This Website?

This website and Red Bank Press were founded by Richards’s great-granddaughter Lucia McCreery. When she was compiling a general family history, she realized that Richards deserved to be better known because of his accomplishments in public service, his honesty and humility, and his devotion to his family.  His diaries are a start.

Holding a B.A. in history and having worked as a journalist, Ms. McCreery is a bear about honesty, objectivity, and the importance of primary sources.

Red Bank Press is named after Richards’s ranch in the Bighorn Basin.
